Shop Rat Foundation Participates in 2009 Focus: Hope Walk

The Shop Rat Foundation has been asked to participate in the 2009 Focus:HOPE walk.

Celebrating 41 Years of Uniting People across Metro Detroit, the 2009 Focus: HOPE walk will be held on Sunday October 11th at 12:30pm.

The Shop Rat Foundation will be providing Wheelie Car Rides to the public along with displaying other projects that students have completed in past Shop Rat Education Programs. We look forward to the upcoming opportunities that may develop with this great organization.

“Experience diversity at Focus: HOPE WALK 2009 on Sunday, October 11 at 12:30 p.m.. when people of all ages and backgrounds will walk together in support of Focus: HOPE's mission. Since its founding in 1968, Focus: HOPE has been bringing people together to work toward overcoming racism, poverty and injustice.

Entertainers range from the modern and cultural hip-hop band General Population to reggae band 1592 and the European gypsy music of the Carolyn Striho Band. Children's activities include face painting and an African drumming circle. From the entertainment to the camaraderie and food, WALK 2009 promises attendee the opportunity to experience the diversity that is Metro Detroit while supporting Focus: HOPE's programs”.

11 a.m. Registration and entertainment begins 12:30 p.m. Welcome and Introductions 1 p.m. 4-mile walk through our neighborhood
