08/09 Shop Rat Education Program Begins

posted on October 13th, 2008

The Shop Rat Foundation welcomes 60 students to the Shop Rat Education Program for the 08/09 School Year!

Shop Rat students attending the Pleasant Lake location have been in classes for three weeks, already building bottle rockets, catapults, and other fun cool projects. Students are excited to build a full size magic illusion set to saw kids in half and a rail car that runs off of compressed air.

Students attending the Jackson location (Classic Turning) are beginning on October 13th and will be completing projects such as wheely cars, 1932 1/2 scale roadsters, suped up air hockey table and other projects.

There is currently a waiting list for students that were unable to get into this falls program. We are working to have a shortended program at Technique Inc. in Jackson, so stay tuned for that opportunity.

Anyone is welcome to watch the programs and may do so any Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday from 3:30 - 5:30 at Classic Turning's 2500 West Argyle Street Location until spring, with the exceptions of holidays, and on Thursday's at Peak Manufacturing's 11855 Bunkerhill Road Location in Pleasant Lake.

We will keep you updated on the progress of the projects.
