- 2007 24 Hour Race for Charity Sponsored by Shop Rat
2007 Shop Rat 24 Hour Race for Charity sponsored by Shop Rat was a 24 hour go-kart race held at the Jackson Speedway where 14 teams including many local charities raced to the finish line. The Shop Rat Foundation donated a custom chopper to the event in which many charities including Boy Scouts, Habitat for Humanity, and the Parma Fire Department sold raffle tickets and were able to keep 100% of the profits. 2007 Manufacturing Day at the Races sponsored by the Jackson Area Manufacturing Association and the Michigan Manufacturers Assocation was a fundraising event for the Shop Rat Education Program. Shop Rat Students at JACC The Shop Rat Foundation and the Jackson Area Career Center partnered to present a Shop Rat Student Open House at the JACC April 14th 6-8pm. All Shop Rat Students were invited to bring their whole family for pizza, refreshments, wheelie car rides,hands on projects sponsored by the JACC, tours of the career centers hands on programs, and displays of projects built by our Shop Rat Students! Students and their siblings were able to learn more about Welding and Manufacturing and Design. They were able to weld a metal project together, machine a dice on the mill, and machine a bolt on the lathe. A special thanks goes out to the Career Center and all the wonderful instructors who worked with our students to build such cool projects! - And the winner is.....
